Lackawanna Railroad: Scranton


We caught this D-L train on the Lackawanna mainline on Sunday morning, looking west from the Harrison Avenue Bridge. Luckily I was able to fit the camera lens under the gap in the fence along the bridge railing. University of Scranton buildings, and tennis courts surround the right-of-way. Just to the right of the locomotive is the Jacobson Hat Company on Ridge Row.

Lauer & Marks Building: Scranton


The former Lauer & Marks Building at 321-323 Lackawanna Avenue in Downtown Scranton. This building, the longtime home of the Community Bake Shop, was destroyed by fire this morning. This building was also once the location of McCrory's Five and Ten Cent Store.
