Luna Park: Unknown Remnant
We stopped by Luna Park yesterday morning, and I got another photo of this. On second look this is too big to be the base of a ticket office, so maybe it is part of the Circus Platform. This view is looking back towards the entrance of the park.

Roaring Brook: Step Falls
We caught this view of the Step Falls from the Harrison Avenue Bridge this afternoon. This is on the Roaring Brook, downstream from Nay Aug Park. The Central Scranton Expressway can be seen in the background. The Expressway is seen in the opening credits of the NBC show, "The Office." The bridge over the Expressway is I-81.

Along the Laurel Line: Virginia
At Virginia, next to the tracks are the ruins of this building. This is about where the footbridge once crossed the Laurel Line tracks. A number of Post-war photos of this area show a shell of a building next to the footbridge, this must be all that's left of it. Looking closely there's a rusted out bicycle frame abandoned here in the rubble. In the distance, through the trees, the Erie's Wyoming Division can be seen.

Laurel Line: Virginia
At Virginia there is this section of Laurel Line track that was taken out of service when the Erie-Lackawanna abandoned the Laurel Line south of this point, on Thursday, September 14, 1961. A connection was built here to the Erie's Wyoming Division, which is in use today to take the trolley to the county stadium. This track once headed south to Pittston and Wilkes-Barre.

Laurel Line: Virginia
We hiked down to this point, known as Virginia on the Laurel Line, note the sign by the switchstand. This is where the junction with the Minooka Branch splits off. The switch is visible in the photo. The road crossing heads over towards the Erie tracks which are in close proximity, to the left. A little further south is Montage Mountain, and the Lackawanna County Stadium.

Cleveland: Playhouse Square, 1930's
A view of Playhouse Square in the 1930's. The old Higbee Co. Building is on the left. They moved to their Public Square location in 1932. This would later become the location of Sterling-Lindner-Davis. The Playhouse Square theatres are in the distance, looking east up Euclid Avenue. The large electric sign atop the B.F. Keith Building reads RKO Vaudeville. For a brief period of time in the early 1920's the Keith Building was the largest building between New York and Chicago.
