A little further east, the train passes Lackawanna Station. Just below the train is the former site of the Laurel Line passenger station. Overhead wires for the trolley can also be seen.
On Saturday morning we caught the grain train headed east, crossing Cedar Avenue. The DL&W's Mattes Street tower, and the Scranton National Bank Building are also seen.
The trolley passing the remains of a bridge abutment, that once was the road to Meadow Lake. Meadow Lake was once a ice pond, and later a swimming hole. Today all traces of it have been obliterated by I-81. This area is near the "Cemetery Bridges."

Just before noon today we spotted this freight train passing the site of the Lehigh Valley passenger station in downtown Pittston. The east end of the Water Street Bridge is in the background.
We caught the trolley yesterday morning, as it winds its way through the Steamtown yard. The Steamtown Mall is in the background. In a few minutes the trolley will board passengers, and take a run down the Laurel Line.
We ventured into Luna Park last Sunday for a few minutes. It's like a jungle in places. The Shoot-the-Chute remains are barely visible through the heavy growth.
