The Biggest Rock 'n' Roll Show of '56
This show produced by Irving Feld, was at the CYC Tuesday, April 24, 1956. The Main headliner was Bill Haley and His Comets, who were riding high on a string of hits at this time. Also on this bill were The Platters, Clyde McPhatter, Laverne Baker, Big Joe Turner, The Teenagers (w/Frankie Lymon) The Teenqueens, Bo Diddley, The Drifters, The Flamingos, and The Colts. All of which were backed by Red Prysock and his Orchestra. I am looking for information on this and similar events in Scranton and Northeastern Pennsylvania from the 1950's and 1960's.
What little information I have gathered so far can be found on my other site: http://remnantsofthepast.piczo.com/?cr=5
