Looking north along the D&H. Passing under the DL&W's Bridge 60. I have added a few more D&H photos on the other site: http://remnantsofthepast.piczo.com/?g=1&cr=5
Last week we stopped by the bridge over Stafford's Meadow Brook at Little Virginia. Even this early in the spring, the area is heavily overgrown. This view is looking west.
The trolley heading south as it crosses South Washington Avenue, last Saturday morning. The trip to Moosic has just begun. This track was once the interchange track between the DL&W and the Laurel Line. The bridge on the left is the DL&W mainline.
This would have been where the cable that pulled the cars ran through. I still haven't figured out how everything was arranged up here. The gravity railroad was last used in the early 1880's.
The old Capitol Records plant in Scranton. I wonder how many of the Sinatra records I have that were pressed in this plant? The Delaware & Hudson tracks pass in front of the building, near South Washington and Cherry Street.
On Saturday we spotted this Lackawanna Railroad boxcar on a siding near Cherry Street. Looking closely you can still see where is says "Route of the Phoebe Snow."
Looking east towards the rock cut, about milepost 14.3. The grass that was planted after the pipeline work is starting to grow, giving the area a much different look than last year at this time.
