Arts on Fire Festival: Scranton
Last Saturday was the Arts on Fire Festival at the Historic Scranton Iron Furnaces. We got there early to try and avoid the heat. A number of local artists displayed their works and several historical exhibits were displayed. Among those we saw were Carl Orechovsky with his mining exhibit, more information can be found here: http://oldforgecoalmine.com/
We also saw some great art by local artists including Tina Imel, check out her cool art at: http://www.tinaimel.com/ and at: http://www.etsy.com/shop/tinaimel Hopefully more events of this type will be held.

Work is progressing on transforming a former Jersey Central F unit into DL&W 664. This locomotive, owned by the Anthracite Railroads Historical Society had been painted as Jersey Central 56 for a number of years. A sister unit owned by the Tri-State Historical Society will become DL&W 663. Both locomotives were originally owned by Bangor & Aroostook.
