View out a car window as the Lake Shore Limited went through Rochester a couple years ago. I've always preferred the "Water Level Route" to that torturous Pennsylvania road through the mountains. It's still easier to sleep riding along the New York Central right-of-way.

Hanna Theatre
99 years ago today the Hanna Theatre opened. For decades the Hanna was home to Broadway roadshows, today it is the home of the Great Lakes Theatre Festival.

Lackawanna Avenue
A deserted Lackawanna Avenue on Sunday afternoon. Thankfully our idiot mayor made parking free last week, everything is closed, a worthless gesture. She's been MIA since then.

Lackawanna Avenue Clock
The corrected time on the clock was unfortunately short lived. Now we're back to it being 39 minutes slow. This should just be removed already, it clearly was only meant to be a photo op prop for local politicians It's rarely told the correct time over the ensuing eleven years.

428 - 430 Lackawanna Avenue
Looks like the long vacant building at 428-30 Lackawanna Avenue will soon be converted to twenty-eight apartments.

Steamtown Mall
Looks like the Steamtown Mall is closed until further notice, even Starbucks is closed. I don't know what we're going to do when we run out of coffee.

901 Meadow Avenue
The tavern at 901 Meadow Avenue looks like it's changed hands again. I don't know how many name changes this place has had in the last twenty years. Interstate 81 is on the east side of the building, I suspect that hurts it's commercial potential. Another example of how the interstate highway system destroyed neighborhoods across the country. This used to be a quiet little neighborhood known as Dutch Hollow. It's sure not quiet down here any more.

Lofts at Village Square
The former Giant Floor building on Meadow Avenue is being converted into the Lofts at Village Square.
