Remember Pearl Harbor

 Eighty years ago today....

Plain Dealer, December 8, 1941.
The attack was really a radio story, films of the attack didn't circulate until a couple months later. The Telenews was a newsreel theatre, they played a number of newsreels and selected shorts in an hour long program. These places were where the news junkies of the war years would congregate. The Telenews also had a radio lounge where you could hear the latest news from the war fronts, or from around the corner. from the Plain Dealer, February 4, 1942.
War Bond booth, Roxy Theatre, New York, from Motion Picture Herald, December 26, 1942.
From Boxoffice, May 9, 1942.
