May Company

The May Company building on Euclid Avenue & Public Square. The store closed in January 1993, we were among the last people in the store. It was late on a Saturday, dozens of people milling around. At one point somebody brought out a box of scarves and dumped them onto a table, people swarmed over them. I guess people wanted a souvenir of the store. We ended up leaving about 10-15 minutes before closing, it was just a little too weird down there. Now after being mostly vacant for 25 years, the store is being converted into apartments.
