Parkview Theatre

The Parkview Theatre at 3169 East 93rd Street. I'm unsure how long this operated as a picture house, they didn't run many ads in the paper. Today the building is Queen Esther Hall and is available for rent, 216-229-5597.

Hemlock Street

This orange cone has been sitting in the middle of Hemlock Street, between Stafford and Meadow for about a month now. Originally thought it was warning of something, but there doesn't appear to be anything worthy of such a warning. I almost wonder if this fell off the back of a truck and nobody wants to touch it because it looks "official."

Illegal Dumping

Along Old Log Road, near the rear of McNichol's Plaza School, is this. People dumping their trash in the city is more annoying than the city's lack of response to this problem.

Steamtown Mall Walkway

Field of Weeds

A ragweed covered lot at the north end of the new Harrison Avenue Bridge last week. Funny how when these eyesores are owned by the government they don't have to cut the weeds down. Wonder where Clueless Cognetti is on this? Do as I say and not as I do, I guess.

UofS Garbage Truck

Spotted this along Ridge Row last week, the U is the size of a small city during the school year hence the need for the enhanced sanitation department. Now I need one in HO scale.

Jim Morrison

Saturday marked 50 years since Jim Morrison's passing.

From the Plain Dealer, February 14, 1970. They sold out three shows in two days. This also shows what an idiot Morrison was. These three shows made up for the one Public Hall show they had to cancel a year earlier due to Morrison's legal problems in Miami. The City of Cleveland would not allow them to play in Public Hall as a result. So instead of one show in a 10,000 seat hall, they did three shows in a 2,860 seat hall.
