COLTS Bus

The No. 26 Mohegan Sun Casino bus on Lackawanna Avenue. These buses don't run to half the places where people work, but they can run one to the casino in the next county. These ads that wrap the bus also make it hard to see out the window, especially when it's dark, or overcast outside. One wonders what the new natural gas buses will be like? Will they be able to go uphill in a dusting of snow? A lot of the newer buses can't.

Transgeneration 70

The only event held in Loew's State after the closing, and before the restoration began was Transgeneration 70, a benefit for the Cleveland Playhouse. By this time most of the fixtures had been stripped from the State. Three rows of floodlights wee strung across the lobby. A pair of arty broken mirrors were used at the back of the auditorium where a mural used to hang above a fireplace.  The event was held on a frigid Saturday night, January 23, 1970. Following this event, Loew's State would sit silent for the next three years, dodging the wrecking ball before the lobby was used for the Playhouse Square Cabaret and Jacques Brel is Alive and Well and Living in Paris.
