45 years ago today the Roger Blough which was under construction at the American Shipbuilding yards in Lorain Ohio caught fire, four were killed and a score were injured. The ship was named for the recently retired chairman of US Steel. The Blough, a bulk ore carrier, was completed in 1972 and is still in service today.
