 You can always get a good cup at Rising Star, multiple locations around town, this one is at 13368 Madison Avenue, a lot of cool shops nearby as well. A nice area to walk around on a sunny afternoon.

Katherine's Family Restaurant

 We stopped by Katherine's Family Restaurant, 7533 Pearl Road out in Middleburg Heights on Saturday afternoon. The food here is great, coffee is really weak, next time I'll get soda. The coffee reminded me of a place in Maryland in the summer of 1969 called Brown's I think, worst coffee ever, this rivaled that. Nothing distracts from good food more than weak coffee.

John Raymond Memorial Universalist Church

 The former John Raymond Memorial Universalist Church, Madison & Vine, from February 7, 2016. This is now the Smurfit Arts Center at the U of S. It was always pleasant walking around in the Hill Section by the U, this isn't far from where my great-grandparents lived many decades ago.

Edgewater Drive

 Looking east on Edgewater Drive from West 117th Street last week. The weather has been keeping me indoors, the cold isn't as much of a factor as is the lack of clear sidewalks. Apparently few people in Lakewood know about snow shovels and rock salt, or calcium chloride. This view is in Cleveland, where it's not any better

 Today is George Washington's birthday. This day used to be a national holiday, now few high school graduates even know who he is.

Carnival Defense Fund Benefit

 Thursday was the 46th anniversary of the Carnival Defense Fund Benefit at the RKO Palace. The councilmen were the victims of lawfare waged by the Kucinich administration against his fiercest critics, including council president George Forbes. All of whom would be acquitted..
