 Can't remember when we last went out for New Year's Eve.

Lackawanna Avenue Clock

 The taxpayer funded clock still isn't working, I've lost track of how many years it's been. It's really a symbol of the contempt our elected officials and the local news media have for the citizens of the city. It's all a big joke, I can't remember when a mayor of Scranton had a negative news story, and that includes the guy that abruptly resigned and pled to multiple felonies the following day. That was just another ha-ha Scranton joke on the news.

The attack was really a radio story, films of the attack didn't circulate until a couple months later. The Telenews was a newsreel theatre, they played a number of newsreels and selected shorts in an hour long program. These places were where the news junkies of the war years would congregate. The Telenews also had a radio lounge where you could hear the latest news from the war fronts, or from around the corner. from the Plain Dealer, February 4, 1942.

Playhouse Square
