The All Night Strut began previews fifty years ago tonight before opening on February 22nd. The Strut began at Pickle Bill's in the flats during the previous summer. At Loew's State it became a runaway hit, producing a cast recording and as part of the experimental Free Theatre in the State auditorium that fall it was seen by thousands. The cast, Robert Chidsey, Dean Hill, Elaine Psihountas and Laura Robinson was quite outstanding! This show opened when I was out on the west coast for a month or so, I returned on February 24th.
