Petersburg Memorial Cemetery

The Petersburg Memorial Cemetery at 962 Paul Avenue in Scranton was established in 1853 and hasn't been used in decades. Very little maintenance is done here, parts are very overgrown, and a portion near the back is pretty much inaccessible. The iron fence across the front is heavily damaged, as is a number of grave markers near the entrance. Below are some photos from September 15, 2013.
More detailed information on the cemetery can be found here: www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~palackaw/cemeteries/Petersburg/

Always a shame when places such as this are neglected :-(

I have been trying for years to have something done here. Julian Koch is my great great grandmother. You show her grave marker picture on your page.
Thanks for highlighting the problems here.
