Old WDOK Studios

On the third-and-a-half floor of the Loew Building. Originally Loew's had offices, and a screening room up here. In 1954 WDOK AM & FM occupied this space, until 1964 or 65. Now the space is primarily used for storage. Most of this still looks like it did in the 1970's. This hallway was pretty spooky at night back then, probably still is.
The above photo is by the Missus. Projection ports still in place after all these years. The musical director of Loew's State used to score pictures up here. Talkers ended the need for that.
Another from the Missus.
Did I mention it was very hot up there? Me with Ruth, I forgot the name of the guy that had the keys, but thanks, especially opening the door to the roof sure cooled it down pretty fast.

Years ago we used this area as a staging area for roof work. It seems like ages ago, and yet only like yesterday.

Thanks so much to Ruth and the gang for an adventurous day. We can't wait to do it again.
