Crusaders

Today is the 44th anniversary of the last of the Allen Theatre concerts in the 70's. Two days earlier the theatre suffered some damage at a free Starz concert, one of the big mirrors in the lobby was broken, among other things. The theatre owners, Millcap Corporation had leased the theatre lobby to the Georgeadis Brothers for a restaurant ( The Old Allen, it was very good). Not long afterwards the seats in the auditorium would be removed for a laser dome (The Lazerium), Neither would last more than a couple years.
 From Scene, July 29 - August 4, 1976.
From Scene, August 12 - 18, 1976.
Auditorium, October, 1971, William Gesten/Foto Arts Inc. The 1961 renovation cut the capacity to 2,860.
