Abandoned Scranton Gas & Water Co. Powerhouse

Along the banks of Roaring Brook is a long abandoned powerhouse from the Scranton Gas & Water Company. It looks like it was built in 1910, and abandoned at a later date, possibly following the flood of 1955. The small town of Nay Aug was nearby, further up on the hillside are the tracks of the Lackawanna Railroad.
1918 map of the Nay Aug area. The powerhouse is located just below the rail yard on the map.

Used to ride dirt bikes all throughout this area. Thanks for the photos and the map.

Nice pictures. A lot of history is buried in that area. I grew up in Scranton but my 'archaeology' was on the west side of the city.
