Little Willie & the All Stars

Today marks the 35th anniversary of the passing of my friend Willie Moore who led one of my favorite bands of the 80's. Also in the group were, Michael Dee, Roy Pekoc, Mark Pekoc and "Perfesser" Dan Mahoney. They played throughout the Greater Cleveland area, but Andy's on Buckeye Road was the best place to see them. I'll always remember Willie sipping VSQ brandy during breaks at Andy's, walking around chatting up the girls. The place would be packed to the gills and rockin' every night Willie was there. It was quite the experience.

I saw Little Willie and the All Stars the first time in Cleveland with some friends in small bar. I was blown away. His band played a few songs and I was very impressed. When Willie came out, he took it to another level. I saw him again at a small bar in Findlay, Ohio called the Live Wire. I also saw him at the Ottawa Tavern in Toledo on Bancroft Street, I think. I believe the last time I saw him was at the Speedway in Toledo. He had a cast on his arm. I think maybe a woman had stabbed him. It was a Blues Fest with some big names. Matt "Guitar Murphy, Savoy Brown, Gregg Allman Band and Johnny Winter was a booked, but did not make the show. R.I.P. Little Willie Moore.
