The old Central Market circa 1945, photographer unknown. This building was destroyed by fire in December 1949, vendors subsequently moved into the old Sheriff Street Market building, renaming it the new Central Market in early 1950. This photo is one of a group of 8X10s I obtained at train shows in the 1980's. I recently fired up the scanner when I came across all sorts of interesting artifacts.
