This Is Cinerama

 This is Cinerama opened in the Palace Theatre on November 14, 1956.

The initial Cinerama installation was a temporary one, lasting to 1959. Late that year a permanent Cinerama installation necessitated the removal of four of the six boxes, along with a chunk of the proscenium. This installation was removed in late 1964, the scars covered with giant red curtains.
