A view of the former Globe Theatre at 902-904 Pittston Avenue. I don't know much about the years this was in operation, but according to some various Film Daily Yearbooks, it had about 650 seats and was once operated by the Paramount-Publix chain.

My mother grew up on Cedar and used to go to the movies here. In the early 1980s, we bought a piano from "Gerrity & Sons" here, too. I had a bike accident at about the age of 3 on the hill to the right of the structure. My uncle put me on his bicycle and we wiped out in the alley! I remember winding up in a pile of dust screaming my head off!
