This week is the 98th anniversary of the Cleveland Electric Exposition, which was sponsored by the Electric League of Cleveland. which ran May 20-30, 1914. It was held at the Wigmore Coliseum on East 13th Street, at Dodge Court. Events like this were designed to give the public a look at what electricity can do in the home by showing off new appliances like vacuum cleaners and washing machines. The main goal was to get people to switch from gas to electricity in their homes. Wigmore's Coliseum later was transformed into the Dodge-13th Building.
