Jersey Central Station

 The Jersey Central Station in Wilkes-Barre, built in 1868, recently purchased by Luzerne County again.

This Paul Stoltz photo shows Jersey Central train 50/51 The Bullet at Wilkes-Barre circa 1930. With a running time of four hours twenty minutes from Wilkes-Barre to Jersey City made The Bullet a short lived train, first run November 7, 1929, last run July 12, 1931. Official Guide

 We obtained a couple of these at the Berea Train Show in October, this is the first one I've gotten with this sticker on the cover. Interesting how the UP passed the copies down the line to the smaller stations. These came out monthly and have all the railway and steamship timetables for North American, fascinating.

North 7th Street

 A new walkway is being installed on North 7th Street under Bridge 60. A section of former Jersey Central right-of-way is being converted into a sidewalk. This will replace the narrow, about 15 inch wide walk under the bridge.
