 The now demolished Union Station, commonly referred to as the Lehigh Valley Station, this was also served by the Pennsylvania Railroad.

Jersey Central Station

 The Jersey Central Station in Wilkes-Barre, built in 1868, recently purchased by Luzerne County again.

This Paul Stoltz photo shows Jersey Central train 50/51 The Bullet at Wilkes-Barre circa 1930. With a running time of four hours twenty minutes from Wilkes-Barre to Jersey City made The Bullet a short lived train, first run November 7, 1929, last run July 12, 1931. The Capitol Theatre at 60 Public Square in downtown Wilkes-Barre opened on October 11, 1920, was renamed the Comerford in 1949, closed in 1977 and was razed shortly thereafter.

Wilkes-Barre: Jersey Central Station

The Jersey Central Station in Wilkes-Barre, built in 1868 and now owned by the Luzerne County Redevelopment Authority, who paid $5,000,000 for the property in 2005, and has let it decay and become the victim of vandals and thieves since then. This was a big hotel/nightclub development in the 1980's, which used federal tax dollars to redevelop. Where did the taxpayers money go?
