Cleveland: Playhouse Square,1941
A view of Playhouse Square in Cleveland, from August or, September,1941. This is looking east down Euclid Avenue, from the intersection with Huron Road, which is on the left. Bad Men of Missouri has been held over for a second big week at the Allen. Behind the Allen the then closed, Mayfair Casino can be seen, which occupied the Ohio Theatre space briefly in the mid-30's. Also visible is Loew's State, and the RKO Palace.
I got this photo about 20 years ago at a train show, somewhere in Cleveland. The photographer is unknown.

Erie Railroad: Wyoming Division, West Junction Branch
A portion of the West Junction Branch, looking south, back towards the Wyoming Division mainline. The Mainline in on the left, where the power lines are located. This runs just above Matthew Avenue in Scranton, and goes to the Dunmore Yard. This was abandoned sometime in the mid 1960's. Construction of I-81 has changed the topography in the area, so some of this is hard to locate today.

Erie Railroad: Wyoming Division
With the warm sunny weather this morning, we made our way down the Erie tracks, through the rock cut. There was alot of water flowing down the path along the tracks. By this afternoon, it's probably mostly ice, as the temperature has dropped about 10 degrees since this morning.
Nay Aug Falls
We made it down to the falls this morning, not as icy as it was last week. The falls was really roaring with all the rain and the snow melt off.

Nay Aug Park: Davis Trail
The bottom of the trail, with Nay Aug Falls in the background. The ice down here was a couple inches thick last Sunday. Last year it was above the bottom railing once all the snow started melting by the end of last February.

We didn't make it down the trail to the falls yesterday. This is a view from last week, the ice was building up at the bottom of the trail, and yesterday it looked alot worse after the freezing rain on Friday.

Last Sunday we spotted a number of these large bird tracks. We think they may be from the wild turkeys that we've seen in this part of the park.
