Loew's Ohio: The Sound of Music
50 years ago tonight The Sound of Music opened at Loew's Ohio Theatre, this hard ticket roadshow would run for 91 weeks, a Cleveland record that still stands.

Moondog Coronation Ball
Today is the 63rd anniversary of the Moondog Coronation Ball held at the Cleveland Arena, March 21, 1952. Among the acts that appeared that night were: Tiny Grimes, The Dominoes, Paul Williams, Varetta Dillard, and Danny Cobb. Produced by WJW DJ Alan Freed it is often considered the first rock and roll show.

Keith's 105th
A bill featuring a Pricilla Dean picture, A Cafe in Cairo, and six acts vaude, one of which was Al Jolson's brother. From The Plain Dealer, March 15, 1925. Keith's 105th was one of the big uptown theatres in Cleveland, demolished in 1981.

Lehigh Valley 26
An SW-1, Lehigh Valley 26 was built by EMD in 1939 and first tested on the Atlantic Coast Line before being sold to Richmond Terminal. More recently 26 was used on the Towanda Monroeton Shippers Lifeline (TMSL), where it was painted in a Lehigh Valley color scheme, before ending up at Steamtown in Scranton in late 2014. The photos are from March 12, 2015 at Steamtown Yard.

The Lake Shore Limited, delayed at Erie, from September 21, 1995. We were here for three hours, train departed, moved a hundred feet and stopped, train was about 6 hours late when we arrived at Syracuse.
