 The former New York Central station in Syracuse, after the Central moved the station to East Syracuse this became the bus station, which had been damaged by fire when this image was taken, May 28, 1996.

Cleveland Curiosities

 We were at Cleveland Curiosities, 13375 Madison Avenue on Saturday, this is the most unusual store, a bit on the macabre side, but well worth a visit.

Salvaged Boutique

 We stopped by the Salvaged Boutique, 13383 Madison Avenue on Saturday afternoon, an interesting aray of items, a neat little shop.

Official Guide

 We obtained a couple of these at the Berea Train Show in October, this is the first one I've gotten with this sticker on the cover. Interesting how the UP passed the copies down the line to the smaller stations. These came out monthly and have all the railway and steamship timetables for North American, fascinating.

Mac's Backs

 We stopped by Mac's Backs, 1820 Coventry Road on Saturday afternoon, it was a great as always. This place has been here for years and has always been a great store, glad to see it still is, stop by, you won't be disappointed. Below a couple pages from their flyer.

We have a few of these, Carlo Wolff's Invisible Soul is great, I'm reading Drugs and Other Things to Do in Cleveland by Francis Elizabeth now, and it's quite entertaining. The Jeff Suntala plein air calendar with Cleveland scenes is outstanding.

Big Fun

 We stopped by the Big Fun pop-up store, 1814 Coventry Road on Saturday. Wow! What an array of ultra-cool stuff, well worth the visit.

 We stopped by Puritas Nursery, 19201 Puritas Avenue on Sunday, quite the extensive display here, even the Beatles were on a rooftop. This is the twentieth year for the display, and it's free. 

Nicholson House

We stopped by the Nicholson House, 13335 Detroit Avenue, the oldest wood-framed house in Lakewood for the annual Christmas Sale last Saturday.

Cleveland Skyline

 View from the West Bank of the Flats last Saturday afternoon. 

Westbound Freight

 Norfolk Southern 9833 and 9723 lead a westbound freight across the New York Central liftbridge at the mouth of the Cuyahoga River last Saturday afternoon.

This is the first time I captured three forms of transportation in one photo. On the left the last of the containers can be seen, meanwhile an airplane passes by on its way to Burke Airport, and a ship can be seen in the distance beyond the bridge. It was quite a day!
