Last Train from 55th Street
55 years ago today the last Pennsylvania Railroad train left the East 55th Street Station. The station would be razed a few years later,

Gene & Glenn
Gene Carroll and Glenn Rowell were a famous radio duo from Cleveland. In March 1930 they convinced RKO Palace manager John Royal (later a big executive with NBC) to book them on a percentage, where they subsequently wowed them.

Cleveland's Amtrak station, CUT it's not, but it works. We once spent the night here, waiting for 48, which ended up running nine hours late.
