Plane Number 5
We stopped by the ruins of Plane 5 on East Mountain last Saturday morning. This was built by the Pennsylvania Coal Company in 1850 as a way to haul coal from to Pittston area to the D&H Canal at Hawley. It remained in operation until 1885 when it was replaced by a steam railroad, which eventually became the Erie's Wyoming Division.
Tree growing out of stone wall.
We're not sure how this was laid out up here.
Corner of wall, it looks like there may have been a room here at one time.
