Rolling Stones
The recent passing of Charlie Watts brought back memories of 1978, I saw them twice, first in Cleveland on July 1, then in Buffalo on July 4, good times.
Plain Dealer, July 2, 1978.Plain Dealer, July 2, 1978. This was a far cry from their first Cleveland appearance, where only 1,000 people caught their act.Plain Dealer, November 4, 1964.

International Trade & Fair
This past week marked the 49th anniversary of the end of International Trade & Fair which was in the Palace lobby 1970-72. Smitty and I helped remove most of the trade fair's chandeliers in the days following the auction. This would eventually lead to the reopening of the Palace the following year.

Lackawanna Avenue Clock
A reminder the Lackawanna Avenue Clock is still not working. Apparently this was just intended as a tax payer funded prop back in 2009, it's been out-of-service for the last few years. The clueless mayor had her campaign headquarters 150 feet from the clock, in one of the empty storefronts in the background, paid no attention to the clock.
